Welcome to Voices of UAE
A national art competition celebrating the creativity and perspectives of young artists across the UAE
Organised by Abstract@DIA, “Voices of UAE” is a student art competition open to all students aged 11-18 across the United Arab Emirates. The event is designed to empower young artists nationwide to share their artistic talents and showcase their unique perspectives on our nation. This competition encourages students to explore various artistic mediums, opening an avenue for creative expression. Participants will be able to exhibit their work in a professional gallery event, gain recognition for their talent, network with high-profile artists based in the UAE, and compete for awards celebrating their artistic capabilities. We aim to inspire a new generation of budding artists, highlighting the importance of UAE’s youth in shaping its art community.
VOICES OF UAE: Discover the Colorful World of UAE Through the Lens of Its Youth
This competition’s theme invites students to share their personal experiences and perspectives of the UAE. We encourage you to explore the country’s rich cultural and heritage landscape, social values, and innovative architecture. We want to see how you uniquely interpret these elements through your art. Consider what makes your viewpoint distinct- whether it is a personal narrative, a reflection on community life, or an exploration of the city’s tangible elements. Think creatively about these themes and how they can be represented in your work through artistic elements such as colours, techniques, and thought-provoking concepts. Let your art tell the story of our nation as seen through your eyes.
Students are encouraged to think about the following questions;
- What images or feelings does the UAE evoke in your mind?
- How do you personally interpret the essence of our country?
- What does UAE symbolise for you on a personal level?
- In your view, what truly defines the unique identity of the UAE?
- How does our country’s role as a cultural hub influence your perception?
- In what ways do you see the blend of tradition and modernity shaping UAE’s cultural landscape?
